It was 1:30 pm, and I stared at my blank computer screen wondering how I was going to create a logo that truly captivated the essence of our new client- Southern Girl Desserts. In the midst of this mind-block, I remembered the key to creating good work as opposed to great work in this industry is understanding the client. So, I grabbed my head-phones, put on some good ol’ southern music, and “went in” on designing the logo. The southern beats were just the inspiration I needed to tap into the rhythm of my work and culture of my client. At 6:00 pm, I finally had something I felt they would be proud to call their own. Southern Girl Desserts confirmed that the look of it is “southern, yet classy, exactly the brand identity we were going for.” It’s this satisfaction that makes all the hard work we put in worth the while.
